Washington Surety Bond FAQ

How do I file my bond with L&I?

For contractors, the original signed bond must be mailed to the Department of Labor & Industries in Olympia. We will mail you the original bond with the required “Power of Attorney” attached.

Do I need insurance too?

Yes. To register as a contractor in WA, you need a Surety Bond ($12k/$6k) AND General Liability Insurance ($200k/$50k minimum limits). We can help you with both.

What if my credit is bad?

We have specific programs for Washington residents with credit issues. While the premium may be higher, we can almost always get you approved.
